Student Action Board

Student Action Board (SAB) is a leadership training program that combines reflection and service to prepare participants to have a significant positive impact on their community.  Working as a team, SAB participants evaluate community needs, chose a focus area, organize service/learning projects related to the focus area and advocate for change.  Along the way students learn about their own leadership style, develop effective meeting techniques, and gain experience managing a project.


Former Mayor’s Award winners and Junior Leadership Durham participants in grades 10-12 are invited to apply.  Applications will be available during the summer and are due October 9.  SAB members attend monthly planning and development meetings, organize a service/learning project, and participate in 9 service/learning projects throughout the school year.
