Who We Are

The Fresh Produce Program (FPP) is a student-driven initiative out of Duke University School of Medicine that brings together community members and undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to support our local food ecosystem and strengthen food and nutrition security in Durham.

What We Do

In response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on food security in the Triangle, the Fresh Produce Program launched a door-to-door food delivery service rooted in care and community. Through close partnerships with local non-profits, we provide free, biweekly deliveries of fresh, locally sourced produce and shelf-stable goods to neighbors experiencing food insecurity and diet-related chronic illness.

The Fresh Produce Program is built on the belief that nourishing food strengthens both individual well-being and the health of our community as a whole. With no paid staff, we rely deeply on the dedication and generosity of our volunteers. Together, we work to earn and uphold trust by offering reliable, high-quality food deliveries - and we're excited to continue growing alongside the community we serve.
