Crest Street Community Tutorial Program

About: In 1996, the Crest Street Community Council noted that there were no high school graduates in their community, so they reached out to Duke University for assistance. The Crest Street Tutorial Project was founded to assist students of the Crest Street/New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church/Durham communities with tutoring/mentoring in a positive learning environment.

2016-17 DGIN funding covered the cost of cultural activities for students and their parents/guardians, and funding also covered computer updates and software as well as materials and supplies.
