CRM administrator Volunteers will assist in processing donations, producing financial reports, tracking constituents, and otherwise working with WHUP’s primary database of donors and volunteers. Some experience with database management is preferred.

1) Grant writer The individual will research and propose possible sources of grant funding for WHUP, monitor application deadlines, facilitate the submission of grant proposals, and follow up with reporting requirements. Experience required. 2) Events Coordinator The volunteer will oversee and monitor the scheduling and production of WHUP events as well as work with individual event producers to ensure that plans are followed according to set timetables and that all other needs are being met in advance of the event. The coordinator will report to the development committee and deliver periodic updates. Experience in event production is required, though the coordinator will not be responsible for producing the events except by agreement. 3) Event Producers Volunteers will design and produce WHUP events as approved by the development committee. Responsibilities include working with the development committee to set a detailed timetable; determine a budget; organize publicity; arrange for advance ticket sales; communicate with the venue, volunteers, and other participants; and whatever other tasks are required. Experience producing events at some level is required. 4) Event Labor Volunteers will participate in WHUP events as needed at the direction of the event producer. Examples include setup, takedown, and other onsite tasks at WHUP-produced events, staffing tables at which WHUP has a presence, postering, etc. No experience is necessary.

1) Linux Administrator The volunteer will assist with various Linux admin tasks including software upgrades and updates as well as work with the chief engineer to improve our streaming, over-the-air, and archiving systems. Experience required! 2) Rivendell Backup Programmer The volunteer will assist the IT team member responsible for the automated broadcast system to improve the utilization of the software, streamline its functions, troubleshoot, and whatever else will improve the service. Experience with open-source software is required.

1) Music DJs and public affairs show hosts Ideal candidates will have an understanding of the elements that combine to make a good, listenable radio program and will demonstrate both passion and knowledge of whatever thematic or topical focus their proposed shows would have. Experience is helpful but not required; basic computer skills are a must. 2) Audio Production Audio producers should have a basic working knowledge of Audacity or other audio-editing software and must be creative, imaginative, and self-motivated. 3) Website Archive Management Volunteers will edit show archives with live in-studio content for permanent posting on the WHUP website. Basic but a working knowledge of Audacity or other audio-editing software is required. 4) Live Music Production/Engineering Ideal candidates will have at least some sound engineering or radio experience and will be able to set up and produce a live-music session on the air in the broadcast studio. Required qualifications include an aptitude for broadcast and sound technology, a good ear, and interviewing skills. 5) Rivendell Team Member Volunteers will respond to DJ requests for archived shows and load new show files into the automated broadcast system for airplay. Basic computer skills are the only requirement. 6) Programming Team Member(s) Programming team members will review new show proposals and participate in interviews with candidates; meet periodically to discuss and advance other WHUP programming priorities; and identify people to train new DJs to operate the studio equipment and produce a high-quality show.

1) Social Media – Facebook Ideal candidates will be currently active on the Facebook platform specifically, and understand organization posting trends and best practices. Volunteers will need to have an understanding of the demographic that interacts on Facebook and our brand there. Will maintain a presence by sharing local topical posts, promoting WHUP programming, DJs, and Events, and interacting with music-related accounts. The goal is to widen our online audience, keep the WHUP voice active in the communities and music networks, and promote WHUP. The ability to create graphics via Canva or the like that fits the WHUP brand is a plus. 2) Social Media – Instagram Ideal candidates will be currently active on the Instagram platform specifically, and understand organization posting trends and best practices. Will maintain a presence by sharing local topical posts, promoting WHUP programming, DJs, and Events, and interacting with music-related accounts. The goal is to widen our online audience, keep the WHUP voice active in the communities and music networks, and promote WHUP. The ability to create graphics via Canva or the like that fit the WHUP brand is very important, as Instagram is a majorly visual platform. 3) Events Marketing Volunteers will assist the Board via Marketing lead to promote special events, track invite lists, and create marketing materials. PR-related work is a huge plus.
