Our Warm Embrace is seeking dependable and enthusiastic volunteers to serve as event staff for our Community Baby Shower on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Volunteers are needed from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Positive Attitude Youth Center in Burlington, North Carolina.

Volunteer opportunities include:

-Free Shopping Day Coordinators
-General Volunteers

*Childcare supervisors must be background cleared.

During your volunteer time,  you may sort donated baby and toddler clothes and shoes by size, season, and gender.

Position Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and managing volunteers to assist with the daily operations and special events at Our Warm Embrace. This role is crucial in ensuring that the organization runs smoothly and efficiently, helping us fulfill our mission to support families in need. Must have background clearance for this role. 

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers through various platforms (social media, community events, schools, etc.).
Onboarding & Training: Welcome new volunteers, guide them through the application process, and provide necessary training for their roles.
Scheduling: Organize and manage volunteer schedules, ensuring that all shifts and activities are appropriately staffed.
Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for volunteers, ensuring they are informed of upcoming events, shifts, and any relevant updates.
Volunteer Retention: Create a positive and engaging environment for volunteers by recognizing their contributions and organizing appreciation activities.
Event Coordination: Assist in planning and staffing special events, such as diaper drives, baby showers, and other community outreach initiatives.
Record Keeping: Maintain an accurate database of volunteers, including hours worked and roles fulfilled, and provide reports as needed.
Problem Solving: Address any concerns or issues that arise among volunteers and mediate conflicts if necessary.

Qualifications: 

Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using basic technology, including email and scheduling software.
Experience in volunteer management, human resources, or event planning (preferred but not required).
Passion for helping others and a commitment to the mission of Our Warm Embrace.

Background clearance required! This role is crucial in ensuring that the organization runs smoothly and efficiently, helping us fulfill our mission to support families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for expectant families, ensuring they are informed of their upcoming VBS date, their baby registry details, and any other relevant updates.
Event Coordination: Assist in planning and staffing special events, such as diaper drives, baby showers, and other community outreach initiatives.
Record Keeping: Maintain an accurate database of VBS participants, including due date, contact information, gender of child(ren), their location, baby registry and provide reports as needed.
