Purpose: Represent the Bull City Woodshop at events such as volunteer fairs and community events
Expectations and Responsibilities: Set-up, tear-down and/or tend the BCW booth at assigned events. Accurately and enthusiastically communicate the work we do and explain how others may get involved. Transport supplies to and from the event as you're able. Shifts can include set-up, tend the booth (no physical labor required), or tear-down the supplies at each event.
Skills and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of the mission of the Bull City Woodshop, the work that we do, and an enthusiasm for communicating it to others.
Requirements: Familiarity with our program and services we provide. If helping with set-up and tear-down, ability to lift 20 lbs. Helpful, but not required is a vehicle to help transport supplies to events.
Training: Brief review of materials used including our information binder, table decorations, forms, and brochures. Review of shop tools and projects so that you may respond to questions. Understanding of possible hands-on activities the BCW provides at these events.
Time Requirement: 2-4 hours per event; 6-12 events per year depending on availability.
Reporting Requirement: Report to the Community Outreach Director about attendance of the event, success of the activity (if performed), and any improvements that could be made at the next event. Submit sign-up sheet to the Community Outreach Director.
