Position Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and managing volunteers to assist with the daily operations and special events at Our Warm Embrace. This role is crucial in ensuring that the organization runs smoothly and efficiently, helping us fulfill our mission to support families in need. Must have background clearance for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers through various platforms (social media, community events, schools, etc.).
Onboarding & Training: Welcome new volunteers, guide them through the application process, and provide necessary training for their roles.
Scheduling: Organize and manage volunteer schedules, ensuring that all shifts and activities are appropriately staffed.
Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for volunteers, ensuring they are informed of upcoming events, shifts, and any relevant updates.
Volunteer Retention: Create a positive and engaging environment for volunteers by recognizing their contributions and organizing appreciation activities.
Event Coordination: Assist in planning and staffing special events, such as diaper drives, baby showers, and other community outreach initiatives.
Record Keeping: Maintain an accurate database of volunteers, including hours worked and roles fulfilled, and provide reports as needed.
Problem Solving: Address any concerns or issues that arise among volunteers and mediate conflicts if necessary.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using basic technology, including email and scheduling software.
Experience in volunteer management, human resources, or event planning (preferred but not required).
