Description

World Hunger Day is a national event aimed at raising awareness of food insecurity experienced in our country.

Durham residents will experience World Hunger Day with a large outdoor event to raise awareness of food insecurity experienced in Durham County, as well as to highlight the amazing work being done to support our community and create a more fair and equitable food system. We hope to celebrate all that food means with friendship, music, arts, and fun. Attendees will learn about healthy eating that incorporates culture and is budget friendly, find out about helpful resources, and just relax and enjoy the day. This event is free and open everyone.

We need volunteers to assist in various tasks: set up & breakdown, greeters, vendor assistance, road closure attendants, parking attendants, stage assistance, bounce house attendants, trash monitors, food/beverage tables, welcome table.

We will provide volunteers with a yellow or orange vest to wear during the event.

Volunteers are not required to serve from 1:15pm-7:30pm, we are asking for a minimum of 3 hours. We are very flexible.
