WHAT: CFSA's 23rd Annual Piedmont Farm Tour featuring 45 local, sustainable farms around the Triangle.
WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29. Most volunteer shifts are from 1:30-6pm, but there are a few earlier shifts (11:30am-4pm) at the kick-off farms with extended hours.
WHERE: Farms are in Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Johnston, Orange, Person, and Wake counties. Check our
2018 Piedmont Farm Tour map for details.
WHY: We try to place 1-2 volunteers at each farm to check in visitors, answer questions, and assist as needed. As a volunteer, you'll receive a free pass to visit farms on the day you're not working (passes are issued per carload, so take your family and friends along with you), plus a limited edition farm tour t-shirt.
CFSA's farm tours have been connecting farmers and consumers for nearly 25 years, giving thousands of people the chance to meet local farmers, learn about sustainable growing practices, and sample some of the meat, dairy, eggs, fruits, and veggies that are produced right here in the Triangle. This is truly a community-supported event, and we are grateful for all of the farmers and volunteers whose contributions make the farm tours successful year after year!
