Exciting news: Kids Voting will be back at Durham precincts this year on Election Day and for Early Voting! And we need volunteer Precinct Leaders to help us bring Kids Voting to as many precincts and youth as possible.
Running a Kids Voting poll site is a fantastic opportunity for team-building and service hours—and it’s all-ages! Adults, youth 16 or older, and younger youth with adult supervision can all run poll sites. Kids Voting provides you with all the training and materials for your site so you can help Durham’s K-12 students cast their ballot on the same candidates and issues as adults, plus, fun activities like games, worksheets, and a selfie station!
Running a precinct involves attending a 60-minute Kids Voting training (virtual or in person), recruiting and training enough volunteers to staff your site, setting up your site, making sure your site runs smoothly on Election Day (Nov. 8) or during a weekend of Early Voting (Oct. 22-Nov. 5) , and returning all ballots and materials to Kids Voting for the final count.
Kids Voting is a great civic service activity for youth groups or team building activity for any group! Its easy, fun, and rewarding.
