Description

Whether you’re planting seeds, harvesting produce, spreading mulch, organizing spaces, or simply making friends and enjoying popsicles, there’s a place for you in our community.

What Volunteers Do:

  • Planting & seeding — Start new crops and learn USDA Organic methods.
  • Harvesting produce — Help gather fresh vegetables for families and donation partners.
  • Mulching & weeding — Support soil health and keep beds thriving.
  • Watering & maintenance — Keep plants hydrated and garden spaces tidy.
  • Organizing & community building — Meet new people, enjoy the outdoors, and strengthen local food systems.

Groups are welcome! Contact Cindy at 919‑560‑7319 or ckriley@dconc.gov to schedule your group workday

Briggs Ave Community Garden is an agricultural education space owned by the North Carolina Agriculture Foundation at NCSU. As part of the Extension program, we teach families how to grow food using USDA Organic methods and safe, seed‑to‑table practices. 30% of all produce grown is donated to the Durham Technical Community College pantry, supporting food access for local students.
