We are in need of volunteers to help with our Annual Gala on April 5th. The event is at the Durham Center for Senior Life and is our biggest fundraising event of the year. Please contact Elena Shapiro-Albert at eshapiro-albert@dcslnc.org to sign up for volunteering. We can take up to 10 people per shift:
Shift 1: Pre-Gala Setup
- Date: Saturday, April 5th
- Time: 10:00am-2:00pm
- Tasks: set up tables, decorate, set dishes at tables, post signs, etc.
- Dress Code: Casual, be comfortable to move around
- Other Notes: This is a physically active shift
Shift 2: Event Support
- Date: Saturday, April 5th
- Time: 5:00pm-7:30pm
- Tasks: Will be assigned ahead of time, and may include serving food, serving beverages, greeting guests, manning silent auction tables, etc.
- Dress Code: Black slacks or black skirt past the knees, black long-sleeve button down or blouse, black shoes
- Other Notes: Options available for individuals with limited mobility
Shift 3: End of Event & Cleanup
- Date: Saturday, April 5th
- Time: 7:00pm-10:00pm
- Tasks: Tasks will vary during the shift with earlier duties including serving beverages and manning silent auction tables, and later duties including clearing away tables, washing dishes, packing up supplies, etc.
- Dress Code: Black slacks or black skirt past the knees, black long-sleeve button down or blouse, black shoes- we encourage bringing a change of clothes to help clean up between 9-10pm
- Other Notes: Shifts can be broken into more or less physical needs
