Volunteer: After School Program AssistantConnecting with Threads will be teaching sewing lessons twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6pm) to youth grades K-5. We are looking for volunteers to help us staff the program -- if you don't know how to sew, we will teach you what you need to know! The projects we will be teaching are simple and the students will progress through the curriculum at their own pace with our support. We will be teaching them both sewing by machine as well as hand sewing. The students will be making projects for themselves to keep as well as items to be donated to their elementary school. This program is part of a broader after school program providing underpriveledged youth access to additional educational opportunities aimed at improving their scholastic abilities.
