Volunteer: RSVP Event Photography & Storytelling Assistant
Role Summary We are seeking a friendly, reliable volunteer to support the Durham Center for Senior Life’s Development team by capturing event photos, helping collect member testimonials, and organizing digital image files. This role helps us preserve stories, celebrate our members, and share the impact of our work with the wider community. Key Responsibilities ● Take clear, well-lit photos of members, staff, and activities, using basic photography best practices ● Capture short, simple member testimonials using provided questions (photo and/or short video clips) ● Upload and organize photo and video files into folders by event and date - Compare event dates with file dates and label folders/files accordingly
Requirements ● Basic understanding of lighting and composition (for example: positioning subjects facing light, avoiding strong backlighting, encouraging natural smiles) ● Comfortable interacting with older adults and giving light direction for photos ● Comfortable using computers and organizing digital files and folders ● Available to attend pre-scheduled events with advance notice
Time Commitment Flexible, event-based schedule with advance notice whenever possible.
