Volunteer: Food Pantry VolunteersCovid-19 brought to light the heartbreaking extent of food insecurity in our community. Iglesia Emanuel, together with a large group of dedicated volunteers, has responded to this challenge with a weekly food pantry, providing large boxes and bags of nutritious and culturally appropriate food. Volunteers work in 2-hour shifts, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, making it possible for us to serve over 600 families a week. Students aged 14 and up are welcome to volunteer on their own. Children aged 10 and up are welcome to volunteer under the supervision of a parent or other accompanying adult. Volunteers need to be over 18 for traffic control positions. In addition to volunteering on site, you can help support this ministry by donating shelf stable food or bags of rice and beans. We always need more protein items (canned chicken, tuna, or peanut butter), cereal, and other nutritious food to complement the fresh produce that we give.
