Who We Are

Guiding Eyes Outdoors (GEO) is a registered 501(c)3 organization that provides life-changing outdoor adventures to those in need throughout North Carolina. Several of our co-founders are veterans who have served our nation and wish to continue that service through volunteerism. We proudly serve military veterans, first responders, the blind and visually impaired, and children that have lost parents during service to our country and their communities. Our goal is to provide a platform whereby individuals who would not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors can be paired with those willing to assist and teach them. We facilitate mentorships that are mutually beneficial to both parties.

What We Do

We take the blind, veterans, first responders, and gold star kids hunting, fishing, backpacking, camping, canoeing/kayaking and on other outdoor adventures. We have developed a specialized training program that is crucial to the success of our participants. Both mentors and mentees receive specialized training to achieve the most effective and beneficial pairing possible. Pairings are chosen based on many factors, but generally we pair participants with veterans. Veterans are trained and highly respected servants of our nation and its citizens. This desire to serve tends to creates valuable mentors with high standards and character. Through these mentorships we strive to provide a sense of independence and inspiration to those we serve.
