Connecting with Threads

We provide education about sewing and quilting in order to nurture our broader community by giving them quilts, bags, and other handmade products.

We are a diverse group of people who welcome everyone to join with us! We sponsor several events to build a community of sewers and givers.  We do this through regular Sew with Us! sessions where we meet informally to sew together, share the quilts and other items we make, and build friendships. 

We encourage people of all ages to get involved with our efforts. We want to build a community of people who support each other as well as their community.

We also sponsor educational events  through the Durham Public Library, Girl Scouts, and other organizations to teach people the basics of sewing and encourage them to give what they make back to the community.  We provide items to Durham Meals on Wheels, UNC Hospice, St Joseph AME church, Families Moving Forward, and other organizations throughout the Triangle as well as in Ohio, Tennessee, and Louisiana.
