Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities

We are a statewide network of community coalitions, health advocates, and parents committed to creating breastfeeding-friendly environments in every setting — from hospitals and childcare centers to workplaces and public spaces. Our volunteers, students, and partners work side-by-side with local leaders to turn compassion into action, ensuring that every baby in North Carolina has the best possible start.

Breastfeeding Family Friendly Communities (BFFC) works to make every community a place where families can feed their babies safely and with dignity. Across North Carolina — and especially in the Triangle area — we collaborate with the North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition, Breastfeed Durham, Breastfeed Chatham, Breastfeed Franklin, and Breastfeed Orange. Together, we organize community events and fundraisers to support uninsured and underinsured families, promote equitable access to lactation support, and lead systems-change efforts to normalize breastfeeding and reduce infant mortality.
