Who We Are
Farmer Foodshare reshapes our disconnected food system by removing barriers to growing and accessing local food. We envision a healthier world in which all people have access to nutritious food.
What We Do
Farmer Foodshare sources fresh food year-round from small and mid-scale North Carolina farms and producers and sells it wholesale to a host of organizations — schools and universities, grocery stores and restaurants, and hunger relief agencies. This creates new revenue opportunities for small farms that otherwise would not grow in sufficient volume to sell directly to large institutions.
We address food insecurity by partnering with dozens of community-based organizations, schools, and childcare centers throughout the Triangle.
This summer we will put together thousands of individual boxes for our partners to distribute within their own community. Volunteers help pack beautiful, locally sourced veggie boxes and are vital to ensuring our fellow community members are accessing delicious and nutritious food all summer long.
