Who We Are

The Office of Community Engagement and Service (OCES), formerly, the Academic Community Service Learning Program, supports students in achieving their academic service graduation requirement established in 1995.  North Carolina Central University requires all full-time, transfer and readmit undergraduate students to complete 15 clock hours of community service per semester.

What We Do

Our office engages community partnerships and service experiences, assists faculty with service-learning course opportunities, organizes and coordinates large-scale service events, provides training and certifies the service hour for the undergraduate students at NCCU  The office has secured and seeks grant funding for service opportunities and also forged collaborations for "gap year", "global", and global service experiences.
