Who We Are

Note in the Pocket is a referral-based program that provides high-quality clothing to impoverished and homeless children and families with dignity and love. Note in the Pocket believes it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school.

What We Do

Note in the Pocket provides clothing for children and families in Wake and Durham Counties.  Our referral partners are the Public School Systems and a dozen local agencies that work with families in financial crisis, to identify the students in most need of well-fitting, weather- and school-appropriate clothing.

*Volunteers 13-15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.  The adult and teen must each register individually as volunteers and sign up for a volunteer slot.*  Volunteers 16 and older may volunteer unaccompanied.

*We are not currently accepting court-ordered or attorney-recommended community service volunteers.  You may find alternative options at this link: https://thevolunteercenter.org/community-service/.
