Who We Are

We make sure vulnerable children and their families matter because where you live affects how you live.

This includes access to quality childcare, affordable housing, access to healthy food, good jobs, and overall well-being.

United Way of the Greater Triangle (UWGT) is committed to a family-centered, collaborative approach that is an effective way of working for nonprofits and for families.

Helping vulnerable children and their families reach their full potential changes their circumstances and strengthens the fabric of our community.

While we all have shared dreams for our children’s futures, for families that are struggling, their ability to make those dreams come true requires a shared commitment from us all.

What We Do

We support and invest in collaborative partnerships of agencies and community services to get children and their families the support and resources they need to have the hope, dignity, skills and ability required to achieve self-sufficiency.

Over the past three years, United Way of the Greater Triangle has invested more than $30 million in local agencies working on issues such as homelessness, hunger, education and literacy, and career readiness thanks to the generosity of our donors. We invest in, and partner with 85 nonprofit organizations throughout the Triangle and another 500 organizations receive funding annually though our designated giving option.

We are working constantly to reach more individuals, more families, and more of our neighbors in-need and doing so by building capacity and leadership among the most effective agency partners, including our successful collaborative partnerships.
