The DMC is a support network for moms in Durham, North Carolina and surrounding communities. We are a registered 501(c)(7) (EIN 26-4420273) organization and support network. We are run solely by the hard work and love of our volunteers. The club was founded in 1988 with the motto of Friendship - Support - Education. We currently have over 700 members around Durham with children mostly between newborn and age 7.
We are looking for volunteers to help out at our annual Spring Picnic on Sunday, April 27th from 9:00am-1:00pm at Merrick Moore Park in Durham. The festival is one of our biggest events of the year and a way for us to give back to members and their families and bring our community together.
We are seeking volunteers who are ready to contribute their time and abilities. We are currently looking for help with general picnic setup, during the picnic at various stations (check-in, food, craft, raffles), and clean-up) with shifts from 60 minutes up to the whole length of the picnic, and are flexible with the the total time required and open to fitting volunteers that match their skills and preferences. Volunteers are vital to the success of the picnic, helping it run smoothly and allowing attendees to enjoy the festivities. We believe that their involvement will make a significant difference.
We value accountability and commitment, so we are looking for individuals who can attend scheduled shifts and take on their responsibilities with seriousness and care. If you know any students at least 16 years of age, who are dedicated, responsible and would be a good fit for helping at the event, please contact us.
