Durham County Food Security Project

Since the pandemic, access to food for people already struggling to be fed continues to be great. Durham County Government and community partners have an opportunity to work together to improve food security for Durham residents.

This is a community-based team representing organizations in Durham County that is focused on reducing food insecurity issues for citizens in Durham County.

What We Do

Fresh Produce Program Delivery Confirmation Caller

Description

These volunteers support the Fresh Produce Program by calling and texting up to 8 participants between Tuesday and Thursday each week to confirm their upcoming deliveries. Volunteers have the assistance of a script and FAQ document to successfully complete calls. This role is KEY for making sure deliveries get to the right people/addresses, and helping us stay in touch with the households we serve. Relationship building is encouraged!
