Duke Regional Hospital is looking for support in the Pharmacy on Wednesdays from 8am-12pm.
The position would entail:
- Running chemotherapy in a sealed biohazard bag which Pharmacists place in a locked cooler bag is then run by the volunteer up to the Infusion Services unit. Infusion Services handle the cooler and take out the meds and the volunteer will bring the cooler bag back to pharmacy to be filled for the next patient.
- Reliable and able to report weekly for shift
- Able to be quite mobile – a lot of movement involved
- Comfortable transporting biohazard medication (no contact with this – the chemo is in biohazard bags and put into the locked coolers by Pharmacy. Volunteer does not come in contact at all with any medications.
