Now Seeking: Board Treasurer (2-Year Term)

Bull City Woodshop — Durham, NC

Bull City Woodshop (BCW) is a youth-centered nonprofit that guides individual development, fosters community connection, and cultivates creativity through woodworking. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a committed and financially savvy individual to serve as our Treasurer on the Board of Directors.

Role Overview

The Treasurer is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the financial health, transparency, and sustainability of the organization. This board position carries a 2-year commitment and works closely with the Executive Director and Finance Committee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and understand monthly financial statements and reports

  •  Attend and participate in a virtual Board meeting once a month on the 4th Wednesday  

  • Provide clear, accurate financial updates to the Board at monthly meetings

  • Monitor overall financial health and identify trends, risks, and opportunities

  • Make recommendations to the Board based on financial analysis

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning

Qualifications

  • Experience reading, interpreting, and communicating financial reports

  • Comfort with nonprofit financial practices (or willingness to learn)

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Commitment to the BCW’s mission of empowering youth through woodworking
