Develop relationships with elderly residents of the Pines (skilled nursing) and the Green (memory care) who participate in the Music & Memory program. Many of the residents are living with dementia. Maintain devices (such as iPod and headphones), keep charged and available for use by residents in their rooms. Listen to music with residents by using two sets of headphones and a splitter. Help residents learn to use their music equipment more independently. Assist Music & Memory team members with personalized playlists for residents. This opportunity is better for volunteers who are looking for a long-term weekly assignment as it involves getting to know the residents and maintaining friendships with them.
