Description

1) Music DJs and public affairs show hosts Ideal candidates will have an understanding of the elements that combine to make a good, listenable radio program and will demonstrate both passion and knowledge of whatever thematic or topical focus their proposed shows would have. Experience is helpful but not required; basic computer skills are a must. 2) Audio Production Audio producers should have a basic working knowledge of Audacity or other audio-editing software and must be creative, imaginative, and self-motivated. 3) Website Archive Management Volunteers will edit show archives with live in-studio content for permanent posting on the WHUP website. Basic but a working knowledge of Audacity or other audio-editing software is required. 4) Live Music Production/Engineering Ideal candidates will have at least some sound engineering or radio experience and will be able to set up and produce a live-music session on the air in the broadcast studio. Required qualifications include an aptitude for broadcast and sound technology, a good ear, and interviewing skills. 5) Rivendell Team Member Volunteers will respond to DJ requests for archived shows and load new show files into the automated broadcast system for airplay. Basic computer skills are the only requirement. 6) Programming Team Member(s) Programming team members will review new show proposals and participate in interviews with candidates; meet periodically to discuss and advance other WHUP programming priorities; and identify people to train new DJs to operate the studio equipment and produce a high-quality show.
