Purpose:
PORCH Communities is growing in Wake County and with a small staff, you’ll provide an extra voice and presence of PORCH for us. As an RSVP, you'll help PORCH reach more Wake County communities, businesses, civic and community organizations to help end hunger. You’ll do this by representing PORCH Communities at community events and host outreach opportunities throughout Wake County focusing on Southeast, Garner, Knightdale and Zebulon helping others learn about PORCH and how they can get involved.
Responsibilities:
● Represent PORCH at community events and outreach opportunities.
● Share information about PORCH for Pantries and how neighborhoods can participate.
● Share PORCH Lunch and Learn opportunities with businesses
● Talk with community members and organizations about ways to get involved.
● Pitch PORCH in a Week or PORCH in a Month to businesses or faith organizations.
● Share potential partnership and outreach opportunities with PORCH staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
Friendly, professional, organized, and comfortable talking with new people. An interest in addressing food insecurity and connecting people to meaningful volunteer opportunities.
Training:
Training on PORCH mission and model, how it was started and its future growth. This includes attending interest meetings for prospective volunteers and onboarding so you can see how the process works. You’re welcome to attend our weekly team meeting and monthly forum for volunteers. We’ll review the materials and how to use them. We can offer a PORCH email to help you keep everything organization..
Time Commitment:
Flexible. You work with the Business Development Coordinator to identify contacts and events and work a schedule together.
Location:
This is a work from home/remote option in which you travel to locations throughout Wake County with a focus on Southeast, Garner, Knightdale and Zebulon.
